What is the best way to advertise my blog about disabilities? I want like-minded readers, not just anyone!?

Post your WANT. It’s like Craigslist, but reversed. And really different. At Ubokia, you’re the rockstar. Post exactly what you want and sellers respond to you. Only talk to sellers you choose.

What are some FREE ways to advertise a blog without being obnoxious? It is through WordPress and when I type the title into Google it doesnt even show up!

You need to enter your meta data via your dashboard. If you have, than you haven’t put in good enough information. There really aren’t many productive ways to advertise blogs – if it is a good read the word will get out. The disability community is very tight – we cross promote each other a lot. Most of us who blog who have disabilities have blog rolls and some of us belong to blogging communities.

You want like minded readers, not just anyone?

Wow, one would think that you would want diversity in your readers. People who will challenge your ideas to force your to sharpen and refine your positions and arguments. People who you can have debates and discussions with who you can change over to your side.

But hey, if you would rather have drones that will mindlessly agree with and go along with anything and everything you say, more power to you.

When you post to a “Social Media” website like *this* one, you might include a link to your blog, AND a request like “What do you think of my Blog?”
you can also still try dmoz:

I have found that the best way to advertise my blog, which is dedicated to the needs of the blind, is to tell my blind friends and mention it at conferences, conventions, and meetings. I have told my local National Federation of the Blind group, and the President lets me advertise particular blog posts in the monthly newsletter. I have told other NFB members when I went on a trip with a large group of blind people to the NFB Center in Maryland. I talk to people about my blog at other conventions and conferences, like the National Association of Blind Studentss North Carolina chapter’s Student Seminar, the state convention for the NFB of NC, the Access Technology convention in my area…I have also told people who work with the blind about it so they can tell their clients…for example, the disability office at the local community college, the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and Independent Living Counselor I meet with, the teachers at the local rehabilitation center…I have also told Special Education teachers about it.

So really, the best way to advertise your blog to a special group is to talk to those people and get involved!
